Control4 Integration Guide
This guide provides the necessary steps for a Control4 authorized dealer to integrate a Artio Lifestyle Lighting System with the Control4 platform.
System Overview
The integration connects two distinct systems to allow the Control4 architecture to control light fixtures via a secure cloud-based command process.
Hardware Requirements
The integrated system consists of four primary hardware devices:
Control4 Controller: The home automation box.
Bridge: A plug-and-play device that receives cloud commands to control fixtures.
Light Fixtures: Controlled by both the Lumenilaire mobile app and Control4.
Controller: Note that this is only used for the standalone mobile app and is not part of the integrated Control4 system.
Installation & Setup
1. Artio Bridge Setup
The Bridge requires a wired internet connection and standard power.
Placement: Use the Artio Lifestyle Lighting mobile app and controller to test potential mounting spots. Ensure all lights activate from the chosen location.
Connections: Route an Ethernet cable from the client’s network and connect power (110v standard AC or optional 12v).
2. Driver Setup & Connectivity
Driver configuration is performed within the Composer application.
Discovery: Locate the device in the "Discovered Devices" tab (named "Artio Bridge" plus a 10-digit number) and double-click to add it to the project.
Troubleshooting: If the Bridge is not discovered, power cycle the network device and verify its presence on the network via the gateway's connected devices list.
Manual Testing: To test communication, manually add a driver, enter credentials, and set the address to "0" to send a command to all lights simultaneously.
3. Light Fixture Assignment
Each light must be allocated individually within Composer.
Credentials: You must enter the client's Lumenilaire Email Address and Password in the driver properties for cloud verification.
Addresses: Obtain the 6-digit unique address for each fixture from the Artio app (Advanced > Managed Lights).
Formatting: Copy addresses exactly; do not use lowercase letters.
Organization: It is recommended to assign each light its own room in Control4, naming the room and sliders (RGBW) to match the Artio app.
Scene and Design Setup
Artio "Designs" are created in the mobile app and then recalled as "Scenes" in Control4.
Creating Scene Links
Allocate a Scene Light: Add an extra light driver and name it "Scene Light".
Assign Fictitious Address: Enter the client's credentials and use the unique address "SCENE".
Configure Agents:
Navigate to Agents > Advanced Lighting and add a new scene.
Rename the scene to match the design name in the Artio Lifestyle Lighting app.
Add the "Scene Light" load to this scene.
4.Link ID: Change the "Scene Light" LEVEL to match the specific Design ID number from the Artio Lifestyle Lighting app.
Example: If "Example Scene 1" is Design ID 1, set the light level to 1.
Important Constraints
Supported Range: Only designs numbered 0–19 are supported.
Scene Limits: It is recommended to create up to 20 extra unallocated scenes for future client use.
Functionality: Add only one scene at a time; "off" versions or toggles are not supported.
